Greetings from the creator

Hi! My name is Gergely Szalay, creator of the Gehenna 2035 series.

I've created this project to fulfill my lifelong dream --creating music in my own style on my own terms. While developing my own musical works & writing for others I came to the realization that in our era of Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, my fellow musicians and I face an unsurmountable competition and market saturation. Just by fact alone that somebody is an excellent musician it makes no guarantee that their carefully crafted musical message will reach the masses.

I possess no such Charisma and to be honest the world really doesn't need my music to thrive… yet. To buy time I turned towards (very) big tech where for salvation, where I am currently employed. Between the struggles, I've reflected on my successes, and I've realized that people require stories more than anything else. Good music grounds good storytelling and makes the landing stick.

So I looked around. I looked very carefully which topic is very close to my heart. A topic which matches masterfully with Alternative Rock music. A topic in which I can tell an engaging story. So I settled on The Vampire the Masquarade universe. However, reading up on it -doing my due diligence- I felt a profund disconnection. The world has changed since the 90s. This was edgy back then, sure, but on the flipside the contemporary works are refined to the point they are mainstream. It's pre-digested. Nothing will shock the crowd. There is nothing left…

The symbols, the moral dilemmas, the intrigue is still there. Rather than creating a period piece, I just took is happening TODAY on the cutting edge of science, tech, politics, religion and extrapolated it. The fear and the zeitgeist of cold-war which drove VtM & Cyberpunk universe to success has shifted.

I am taking my best shot. What happens after, is anybody's guess. Only the message is important and what's happening right NOW. Blink twice and rest will go to the digital archives…
